Who was in charge of developing this marvel?

Takashi Tezuka directed and Shigeru Miyamoto produced the first Super Mario game for the SNES console. This was released in 1990 in Japan and later in the rest of the world. A new feature was Yoshi, the friendly dinosaur that allowed Mario to move at a faster speed through Dinosaur Land.
Miyamoto stated that since the production of the first Super Mario Bros, he wanted to include a dinosaur that would be Mario's companion throughout the adventure.
